BIRTH DOULA SERVICES

Yes! Hospitals are currently allowing professional doulas to attend births and I AM working! I can attend hospital births, birth center births, and home births. I wear a mask the entire time and practice safe COVID-19 practices.

If you are interested in hiring me for doula services, jump to the bottom to book your free 1-hour consultation to see if I might be a good fit for your birth team and to see if your due date is available on my calendar!

It is my belief that women never forget how they are made to feel during their birthing experience(s). My goal as a Doula is to help my clients and their partners or fellow birth team members feel supported. I like to use education, emotional and physical coping strategies, as well as emotional bonding to help serve as a guide through pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the early postpartum period. It is my passion to work together with my clients in creating a solid birth environment that will serve as a secure foundation for a positive birth experience. Even when things might not happen as anticipated.

I will help you navigate through the choices and challenges presented to you without judgment. We can work through it all, regardless of your birth desires; and it’s always an added bonus if we can laugh a little while we get there! I am an eternal optimist, but also a realist, and enjoy clients who take pride in keeping things real.

Personally, I have given birth to two boys of my own, one born at a hospital, and one born at home. I also have experience working with single Mamas, gestational surrogates, twin pregnancies, and members of the LGBTQ community.

In addition to my Doula training and certification, I have attended trainings in lactation, childbirth education, and the use of the rebozo in pregnancy and birth.

Birth Doula Services Include:

  • 24/7 access via phone/text/email

  • 24/7 on-call availability starting at 38 weeks until delivery

  • 2-3 in-person prenatal visits that last 90 minutes to 2 hours (these can be done virtually if requested). During these visits, I provide childbirth education, information about breastfeeding, teach positions for pregnancy, labor and delivery, and serve as a calm sounding board to help you navigate this wild ride.

  • In person or virtual emotional and physical support during active labor, throughout your birth and immediate postpartum (up to 2 hours after the birth).

  • Back-up doula in the event of an emergency or unforeseen circumstance. You will get a chance to meet them at one of your prenatal visits.

  • 1-2 postpartum visits in your home (or virtually if preferred) typically 1-2 weeks after the birth to help with feeding, sleep, process your birth experience, and to connect you with additional resources as needed.

INVESTMENT:

  • Doula Services: $1800

  • Doula Services with Birth Photography: $2400

  • Doula Services with Fresh 48 Session: $2300

  • Doula Services with short Video: $3700

  • Placenta Encapsulation: $250 for doula/photography clients or $300 standalone

*I request a retainer of $600 to reserve your birth on my calendar. Most doula clients choose to pay their doula fee in two payments. The balance is due by 36 weeks. If you have financial concerns, please contact me about requesting a payment plan. I also offer a sliding scale for special circumstances.
